Our next virtual meetup is scheduled for Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 8 am Central via Zoom.
“You are a Scrum Master and a team member has been offline for two days without explanation. You’ve tried all your usual means of communication with no response. What are you going to do?”
“You are the Product Owner on a team that is considered to be under-performing. The startup you work for is going to be acquired in 3 months and rumors of layoffs are already going around. What are you going to do?”
Agile Decision Games make extensive use of the case method, a form of learning in which the activity of each session is an exercise known as a “decision forcing case.” Long used in business schools, and recently introduced to military staff colleges, the case method has little in common with the teaching methods used in most academic settings. The gamification aspect introduced is similar to a D&D campaign where the whole group gets to see other participants’ courses of action and rationale unfold.
Participants not only get to examine their own thinking and biases, but also learn from their peers. Best of all, however, participants can practice making difficult decisions for difficult situations without the real life high stakes.
This session will be facilitated by NICK YINGLING.
